Ranch Rail Stakes Schedule - Buckle, saddle blanket or similar prize and neck sash to the winner, prizes for 2nd through at least 5th place (more prizes added for larger class sizes).

Disciplined Rail is a class which tests the skills of both horse and rider, as they execute specific gaits, transitions and movements as requested by the judge.
Be sure to sign the liability waiver electronically when you enter, otherwise you will have to sign a hardcopy upon check-in.

Class Awards:
Ties for class awards will be broken by score by a predetermined tie breaker, then second tie breaker and so on. First If there is still a tie, a coin flip will occur.
Top Hand Award: The Top Hand award will be awarded to the rider with the most cumulative points overall in each buckle series show. For the 2025 Buckle Series, the Top Hand is calculated by overall point totals for horse/rider combination. Winners will be presented with Top Hand award, which is often a buckle or similar value. Ties for high point will be broken by number of first place placings, then second, then third, then fourth. If there is still a tie, it will be broken by a coin toss.
PLEASE NOTE: NO HIGH POINT AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN ON THE DAY OF A SHOW. PLEASE ALLOW OFFICE STAFF NECESSARY TIME TO TABULATE POINTS AND PACK UP THE SHOW.

Each division entry includes the corresponding Ranch Rail, Ranch Riding and Ranch Trail class. Divisions for this show include:

Division Champion Awards: Silver belt buckles will be awarded to the horse/rider combination* with the highest point total in each division for the series. All classes to count for Classic Series. In order to be eligible to win a division buckle, you must enter all classes in your division (Ranch Riding, Ranch Rail, Ranch Trail and Ranch Conformation) in 3 out of 4 series shows. Best 3 out of 4 shows by class to count for the division buckles. *Points are on the horse for Open and Green Horse classes. This enables trainers with multiple horses in a division to remain in the running for the buckles. At least 5 riders must compete in a division for a buckle to be awarded. Otherwise, an alternate prize may be awarded or the exhibitor may supplement the cost of the buckle if desired. Series awards will be presented at the Rendezvous Dinner. Ties for awards will be broken by the number of first place placings, then second, then third, then fourth. If there is still a tie, it will be broken by a coin toss.

Pre-entries for show close two days before the show at 11:59p. We will still accept entries up to 11:59p the day before the show show with a $5 late fee per class. Adds and scratches on show day are fine. Electronic pre-entry via link below is required. Entry on show mornings is not guaranteed. Entry opens in Equiscribe at least 30 days prior to show. Contact us to discuss other payment options.
Remember: for 1 day shows, your card is charged at the end of the show day.

Scratch/refund policy:
Scratches will receive a full refund (minus $5 office fee). You may scratch or replace the rider or horse for your entry by submitting the change to info@westcoastranchhorse.com or calling 951-595-7536. Please include rider name, horse name, class number and name and WCRH member number. Please understand that we book venues, hire judges and order prizes/awards based on participation. If everyone were be allowed to scratch at the last moment, we would no longer be able to offer these shows. In the case of rescheduling due to rain, registered competitors will have the choice to roll over the the rain date or receive a full refund. In the case of show cancellation, competitors will receive a full refund.
